Phytheon

Phytheon, a fey city along the Via Ordanes.

Deep within the dense and twisting forests that follow the winding course of the Via Ordanes, there is a city that glimmers like an opal in the mist. This is Phytheon, a magical oasis, where the Feyfolken have crafted a world of indulgence and extravagance, where mortals can come and indulge in their most decadent fantasies.

The forest around Phytheon is thick with ancient trees, with boughs so heavy and green that they seem to form a solid canopy over the city. The air is thick with the scent of wildflowers and rich earth, and the sounds of birds and beasts fill the air. The river Via Ordanes runs through the forest, its clear waters glinting in the dappled sunlight that filters down through the leaves.

Phytheon’s vibrant architecture shines in the Garden of Moonstone.

Phytheon itself is a wonder to behold. The city is built of shimmering crystal and iridescent stone, alive with vibrant colors and enchanting music that fills the air. Dream lights dance and flicker in patterns that are both mesmerizing and hypnotic, luring visitors deeper into the city's heart. The architecture is a whimsical blend of natural elements and modern design, with towering trees that have been woven with glowing vines and sparkling crystals.

The Pyramid of Laxxos can yield much gold, if your luck holds true.

Phytheon is a place of dreams, where anything is possible, and the laws of physics and reality are mere suggestions. The Fey of Phytheon are masters of illusion and enchantment, creating games and entertainment that seem to defy logic and reason. Visitors can indulge in their wildest fantasies, whatever they may be.

At the Pyramid of Laxxos, visitors can test their luck at games of chance that are imbued with fey magic. The stakes are high, and fortunes can be made or lost with a roll of the dice or the turn of a card.

At the Styx n Stones tavern, patrons can sample exotic fey wines and spirits, rumored to have mystical properties. The bartenders are skilled at crafting custom cocktails that cater to each guest's desires and whims, the drinks are served by sylphs and the music never stops.

Enjoy a libation at the Styx N Stones.

For those who seek more exotic pleasures, there is the Figment Galleria, a place where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur and twist like a kaleidoscope. Here, visitors can experience anything from flying on the back of a dragon to battling a horde of undead warriors.

And for those who seek something even more dangerous, there is the Court of the Red Queen, a place where the Feyfolken come to dance and revel in their most primal desires. It is said that once you enter the Court, you can never leave, and that those who do return are forever changed.

Other notable locations in the city include the Gardens of Moonstone, a lush oasis filled with glowing flora and fauna, the Court of Miracles, a grand stage where the most talented performers in the city come to showcase their skills, and the Golden Fountain, a large, ornate fountain located in the heart of the city, which constantly spews out a stream of shimmering gold coins, most, but not all, of which are illusory. Visitors can toss their own coins into the fountain for good luck, and many believe that the coins, when real, have magical properties.

If you find yourself at the Court of the Red Queen, it’s already too late.

Despite the allure of Phytheon, visitors should be wary, for the Fey of Phytheon are masters of illusion and deception, and they use these skills to keep their guests enthralled, lost in its pleasures and distractions, long after they intended to leave. One common tactic is to alter the perception of time, making a day in Phytheon feel like mere hours, leaving guests hungry for more. The city is also full of distractions, from the exotic games of chance to the mesmerizing performances of the Feyfolken themselves. The fey use their innate magic to manipulate the emotions and desires of their guests, keeping them entertained and satisfied for as long as possible. They are always watching, and it's said that those who stay too long may find themselves forever trapped in the city's thrall.

As for what the fey get out of this, it varies. Some Feyfolken simply enjoy the company of mortals, finding them amusing and entertaining. Others use Phytheon as a way to study the behavior of mortals and learn more about their world. And some may have more sinister motives, using the distractions and indulgences of Phytheon to extract secrets or manipulate powerful mortals for their own ends. Overall, the fey of Phytheon see the city as a way to indulge in their own whims and pleasures while also satisfying the desires of their mortal guests.
